Each spring, Doug’s thoughts turn to whitewater rafting. He’s been looking at photos from last summer’s trip on the Middle Fork and making plans for this summer’s river adventures. He hopes you’re doing the same. Here are Doug’s tips for safe and enjoyable river trips.
If it’s cold and wet, wear your rain gear and build a fire.
Share your fire with your friends, but don’t put them on a stick and grill them. This is a mistake Doug made last summer before he realized that Mr. Bacon was a member of the team and not a food item.
Preparing a special treat like apple pie is a nice way to apologize after offending someone you tried to grill.
Cat holes are illegal on the Middle Fork. Use the groover, Doug!
A little yoga after a day of rowing helps keep you limber.
River trips are a lot of work. Take time to relax with a good book and a cold beer.
Thanks to Vaden for designing Doug’s sets and costumes and to Wendy for photos.
Doug, you are a rafting’ rock star! Wow, Vaden – Pixar is going to snatch you off to Hollywood if you keep up the great work on set design and animation. Nice camera work Wendy! Thanks to all for the inspirational raft trips. Almost like being there.
